Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Johns County is seeking volunteers to join them in their mentoring programs.

They need volunteers for special events, on-site mentors (such as at local area schools), and community based mentoring.

What does a Big Brother or Big Sister do?

Big Brothers and Big Sisters serve as role models and mentors for children in need of one-on-one mentoring. If you have a few hours a few times a month to help a child by giving the gift of friendship, the program needs you, as they have kids lined up waiting for mentors.

If interested in becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Johns County volunteer page and follow the steps.

Is your child in need of a Big Brother or Big Sister

  • The child needs to be between 6 - 12 years old
  • The child needs to be interested in participating in the program
  • The child must be in need of one-on-one mentoring

The Big Brother Big Sister program strives to include families as partners, and as a parent you get to approve of the Big Brother or Big Sister selected for your child. Participating in the program comes with many benefits including helping your child realize his or her potential, which has shown to help with academic success, building confidence and building better relationships.
